Chris Lindquist Harvest Days
Chris Lindquist is Director of the Westfield Athenaeum (www.westath.org), which is the public library for the City of Westfield. The Athenaeum, founded in 1864, also houses the Jasper Rand Art Museum and the Edwin Smith Historical Museum. Chris directs a staff of 30 professionals and para-professionals, as well as volunteers and interns. The best part about the job, according to Chris, is being able to use all the wonderful resources the Athenaeum has to offer to help make people's lives more meaningful and rewarding. He sees every day as a new adventure. Chris is also the current President of the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System (WMRLS), headquartered in Whately, MA. In addition, he serves on a number of committees, including partnerships with Westfield State College, Stanley Park, the Westfield Woman's Club, the Non-Profit and Volunteer Network of Greater Westfield, along with serving on the Executive Committee of Westfield on Weekends. Chris has a B.A. in English from Trinity College and an M.L.S. from the Columbia University School of Library Service. He grew up in Newington, CT and resides in West Simsbury, CT.
Bob Plasse Dickens Days
His sixty short years have included stints as a school teacher, college professor, arts administrator (Springfield's Mayor's Office for Cultural and Community Affairs), social worker, professional film/television /theater actor and expert catering waiter. Born in Springfield, educated at Cathedral High School, Holy Cross College and Fordham University, Bob moved to Westfield from Manhattan, where he directed a program for homeless persons living with AIDS and substance abuse. He is currently a Professor in the Human Services Department of Holyoke Community College, has a small psychotherapy practice and has found that there is indeed, "life after New York City."
As Incorporator/President of Westfield on Weekends, Inc, he has donned a Santa suit, has helicoptered high above the city and appeared as the Ghost of Christmas Present, the Elm King and Father Frost. As Managing Producer of The Shows at Piccolo's, he is helping to introduce area residents to all kinds of live performances - from cabaret to Elvis. In short, he has a full life and a great love for his new city. He is honored to have been named the 2004 Volunteer Citizen of the Year by Mayor Richard Sullivan.
Jo Sarnelli WinterGreen Days
Jo Sarnelli is the new Chairperson of the Wintergreen Days Committee. Jo is a registered CPA with her local accounting business and the leader and founder of the local dance group, Small Planet Dancers. The Seven Nations concert at the School St Bistro Music Hall and the Big Band and Swing Concert and Dance Series at the Music Hall are just the beginning of Jo's contributions to the fabric of WoW and Downtown Westfield.
Dan Genovese Westfield Wheelmen Vintage Baseball Games
Dan Genovese was born in Westfield, and is the author of two books on Westfield baseball history and the founder and captain of the Westfield Wheelmen Vintage Base Ball Club. He became associated with Westfield On Weekends in the fall on 2005 by bringing the concept of connecting his vintage baseball team with Westfield On Weekends in order to provide a signature summer event, targeted as good family entertainment for the city of Westfield. Genovese is a product manager for OMG Roofing Products in Agawam Massachusetts, and lives in Westfield with his wife Nancy and daughters Abby and Molly along with their yellow lab, Buffy.
